How does language shape ethnic identities in Nigeria (one of Africa's most multilingual nations) and Nigerian diaspora Analysis of historical, cultural, political, and linguistic circumstances to allow students to assess different arenas of language interaction such as contemporary politics, religion, literature, and performing arts and to gain indepth understanding of Nigeria's diversity of languages and cultures, with focus on four major languages: Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, and Nigerian Pidgin English. P/ NP or letter grading.
