Study of limited periods and specialized issues and approaches in history of literary criticism, including moral, biographical, sociological, psychological, formal, structural, and deconstructionist. Area of concentration determined by instructor and listed in Schedule of Classes. Some study of literary texts, to illuminate value and practical application of approach, may be required. May be repeated for credit with topic change. P/NP or letter grading.
