Study of major texts in world literature, with emphasis on Western civilization. Authors include Swift, Voltaire, Diderot, Rousseau, Goethe, Flaubert, Ibsen, Strindberg, Dostoevsky, Kafka, Joyce, Woolf, and Stevens. P/NP or letter grading. id. Great Books from World at Large. Study of major literary texts usually overlooked in courses that focus only on canon of Western literature.
