P/NP or letter grading. 5. Climates of Other Worlds. (4) Lecture, three hours; discussion, one hour. Introduction to atmospheres of planets and their satellites in solar system using information obtained during recent planetary exploration program. Elementary description of origin and evolution of atmospheres on planets. Climates on planets, conditions necessary for evolution of life, and its resulting effect on planetary environment. P/NP or letter grading.
