Investigations and demonstrations supporting material in course 3, including causes and effects of seasons, remote sensing and satellite picture interpretation, atmospheric stability, and weather systems (fronts and cyclones). P/NP or letter grading. 5. Climates of Other Worlds. (4) Lecture, three hours; discussion, one hour. Introduction to atmospheres of planets and their satellites in solar system using information obtained during recent planetary exploration program. Elementary description of origin and evolution of atmospheres on planets. Climates on planets, conditions necessary for evolution of life, and its resulting effect on planetary environment. P/NP or letter grading.
