This course is designed to introduce strategies and techniques for teaching reading in the elementary school, and to provide theoretical knowledge and principles appropriate to the teaching of reading. Special emphasis will be placed on suitable materials and equipment for enhancing reading skills. Focus will also be given to assessment, exceptionality and multi-cultural education relative to the teaching of reading.
