This course deals with the production of speech, both from the point of view of articulation (intonation, production of sounds) and from the point of view of content. Through various sources ~ recordings, videos, readings ~ students are made aware of the divergent levels of speech (e.g., familiar, formal, literary, and poetic) and are called upon to write and deliver various kinds of speeches and oral presentations. Three hours weekly, plus online assignments on Blackboard and the Web. Prerequisite: Take two 200-level courses in Spanish or permission of instructor.
