(Offered in English.) The feature films in this course depict life in France and the Francophone world. In addition, students become acquainted with the formal and aesthetic principles of film, the so-called seventh art form. The films are in French but are subtitled in English. Students with advanced standing in French may receive advanced language credit if readings and written work are done in French. Prerequisites: Course in European history helpful but not required. Permission of instructor/department for credit in French minor.
