This is a WECM Course Number. Prerequisite: ITCC 2432 or instructor approval. This course introduces students about the deployment of the state-of-the-art campus LANs. The course focuses on the selection and implementation of the appropriate Cisco IOS services to build reliable scalable multilayer-switched LANs. Students will develop skills with VLANs, VTP, STP, inter-VLAN routing, multilayer switching, redundancy, Cisco AVVID solutions, Quality of Service (QoS) issues, campus LAN security, and emerging transparent LAN services. Key course stresses the design, implementation, operation, and troubleshooting of switched and routed environments. (3 Lec., 4 Lab.)
