The earth as a habitat: a study of the interrelationships between humans and the physical environment. Topics covered include: minerals and rocks as resources, landscape development and its effect on humans, groundwater resources, the earth's internal processes and their relation to natural disasters, soils and weathering, the atmosphere and oceans, the earth's energy system, geologic factors in urban and regional land use planning, and related current issues in environmental geosciences.
