This is a Local Need Course. This course begins the study of electronics including the electron theory of vacuum tubes, rectifiers, power supplies, and amplifiers. Semiconductors, transistors, and transistor circuits are also covered. This course is a continuing study of the blueprints and specifications started in course ELPT 1474 with special consideration given to the study of the electrical installation. The metric system is covered. Electrical constructions installations of instrumentation equipment is covered. Instrumentation covers the recognition, applications, and characteristics of temperature, pressure, and flow controls and equipment. On-the-job relationships and leadership are presented along with OSHA safety in preparation for the apprentice to take over as a journeyman. Nuclear energy and nuclear energy safety are studied also. (3 Lec. 3 Lab.)
