This is a Texas Common Course Number. Prerequisite: Developmental Reading 0093 or English as a Second Language (ESOL) 0044 or have met the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standard in Reading. The student will develop the ability to use computer-based technology in communicating, acquiring information and solving problems. Additionally, the student will evaluate the effects and implications of information technology on various aspects of society. COSC 1300 may not be applied towards a computer science major or minor. COSC 1300 or any higher level COSC course will meet the core curriculum and/or Associate in Arts or Associate in Sciences requirement.
