Three hours of lecture and two hours of laboratory per week. Prerequisite: PLSC100 or BSCI106; or permission of instructor. Recommended: PLSC253 or PLSC254. Junior standing. Silviculture is the science of forest stand dynamics and the biotic and abiotic factors affecting it. Issues addressed will be related to forest stand development, from regeneration to harvesting and the sustainable management for multiple uses. Topics covered will be related to natural and managed stands in both rural and urban environments.
