MUSC 103 - Beginning Class Piano II

Four hours of laboratory per week. Prerequisite: MUSC102 or permission of department. Functional piano training for beginners. Development of techniques useful for school and community playing. Basic piano techniques; chord, arpeggio, and scale techniques; melody and song playing; simple accompaniments, improvisation for accompaniments and rhythms; sight reading and transposition, and playing by ear. MUSC 103 is a continuation of MUSC 102; elementary repertoire is begun.
