MATH 130 - Calculus I for the Life Sciences

Three hours of lecture and two hours of discussion/recitation per week. Prerequisite: A grade of C or better in MATH 112, MATH113, or MATH115; or equivalent; or permission of department based on 3 1/2 years of college preparatory mathematics (including trigonometry) and satisfactory performance on the MATHEMATICS PLACEMENT EXAM. Restricted to students with majors in College of Chemical and Life Sciences. Not open to students majoring in mathematics, engineering or the physical sciences. Credit will be granted for only one of the following: MATH130, MATH140, or MATH220. Basic ideas of differential integral calculus, with emphasis on elementary techniques and applications to the life sciences.
