This course will focus on how the effects of the sensory deprivation can be minimized through early identification and detections starting with the prenatal conditions concluding with the elementary school child. The development of hearing in children, from conception to age five including new technological developments will be studied (cochlear implants and to acoustic emissions). Prerequisite: COC 309. 3 credits.
