The sociological perspective is used to study communications media in contemporary society. Special emphasis is given to the social, political, and economic contexts of mass media. The course looks critically at media production, producers, products and effects. Students will analyze and debate multi-media documents and learn to content analyze media images and texts. Offered every year. Prerequisites: SY2500, EMS.
