The first of two courses in social work and evaluation research. Emphasis on understanding the development and use of scientific knowledge and the application of that knowledge to evaluate social work interventions and program evaluation. Special attention is given to applied research methodologies to enhance the student's use of evidence-based social work knowledge and skills. May be repeated only once. Prerequisite: Foundation Status. Corequisites: SOWK 621, 640 or permission of the department. Three hours per week.
