Explores women's roles in processes of economic, political and social development from a global perspective with a focus on less developed countries. Provides a review of theory and analysis of women's roles in development processes through case studies examining particular effects of general trends affecting women associated with globalization and development. Prerequisite: Junior standing or permission of the instructor. Three hours per week with enhancement. Meets General Education IIIB or IIIC (Prior to Fall 2008: IIB).
