Focus is on the development of Indian institutions, the rise of Hinduism and Buddhism, the Mauryan, Gupta and Mughal empires, and the arrival of Europeans. Prerequisites: Sophomore standing or permission of instructor. Three hours per week with enhancement. Meets General Education IIB.
