Introduction to the theory and methodology of historic archaeology. Interdependence of documentary and archaeological evidence stressed. Examines material culture of the period 1600-1850 for the lower Eastern Shore region and relates developments within the region to the general themes influencing the Anglo-American community as a whole. Prerequisites: Sophomore standing or permission of instructor. Three hours per week with enhancement. Meets General Education IIB.
