Topics include the historical and social contexts of this art, the world and ideas of major artists, and the emergence of an American avant-garde after World War II. B.A. and B.F.A. Prerequisite: ART 201. Non-major Prerequisite: Permission of instructor for non-majors. Three hours per week with enhancement. Meets General Education IIIA or IIIC (Prior to Fall 2008: IB).
