This course synthesizes information essential to the understanding of clients and nurses as unique individuals and emphasizes the interactional nature of human phenomena. Focus is on the therapeutic use of self as a basis for understanding behavior patterns, assisting with self-exploration, and promoting optimum levels of mental health. Course content will include an exploration of theory which provides the foundation for the application of the nursing process in a variety of mental health settings. Offered as a quarter course. Six lecture hours and fifteen hours of clinical laboratory per week. Prerequisites: NUR314B, NUR315B. Co-requisite: NUR413A.
