A full-time classroom experience in a local school setting providing the pre-service undergraduate with on-site supervisory support in the classroom and periodic observation and evaluation by a college supervisor at the school placement site. The practice of measuring and evaluating student achievement will also be examined as an integral part of the teaching/learning process. Students are also required to attend weekly seminar sessions. At these weekly sessions additional instruction in measurement and evaluation, classroom management and teaching strategies will be given. Minimum of 150 clock hours per semester, plus weekly seminars. Required of all Secondary Education Minors seeking licensure in History (EDU493), Mathematics (EDU495), Biology (EDU496), Earth Sciences (EDU497), English (EDU498) or Chemistry (EDU499). All Licensure Program prerequisites must be met prior to practicum assignment. Prerequisites: Permission of Department Chairperson and Program Coordinator.
