This course introduces the beginning student to the critical thinking skills of the nursing process. Focus is on health assessment and physical examination techniques using the nursing science indices. The student will use concepts of communication to elicit a health history, establish a data base, apply physical examination techniques, and document normal assessment findings. One lecture hour and three laboratory hours per week. Prerequisites: BIO105, BIO200, CHE124, CHE125, PSY101. Co-requisites: BIO201, NUR211A.
