The knowledge and skills needed for the macro component of generalist social work practice are the focus of this course. Skill in social welfare policy research analysis and evaluation is developed and students gain experience in preparing and presenting a policy position both orally and in writing. Students take this course concurrently with fieldwork in order to examine policy relevant to their field experience. Three lecture hours per week. Prerequisite: SWK302. Co-requisite: SWK404 or SWK405.
