The course emphasizes teaching methodologies for all grade levels. Consideration of materials applicable to health/family and consumer science, evaluation techniques, discipline techniques, preparation of teaching units and bibliographies; and a survey of current literature in the field. Three lecture hours per week. Course requirements include fifteen (15) hours of field-based experience in health education classes with grades (PreK-12). Required course for Health and Consumer Science Concentration. Not open to students who have received credit for SFL360 or SFL360B. Prerequisites: SFL198 or SMS177, and SFL200 or SMS200, and SFL261 or SMS260, and matriculation in the Health and Consumer Science Concentration.
