This course is designed to provide students with the theories, standards and skills to teach various dance forms in studios and public and private schools. Students will investigate personal beliefs about teaching and learning as well as essential skills needed to become a dance teacher. Topics will include the learning environment, methodology, lesson planning, and assessment. Three lecture hours plus one two-hour laboratory per week. Required course for Dance Concentration. Prerequisites: SFL161A or SMS150, and SFL163 or SMS154.
