Students taking this course will study the major melodic, harmonic, rhythmic and formal developments of composition in the 20th century. It will include analysis of seminal works as well as exercises in practical composition culminating in a final project. Satisfies an elective in the Music minor. Three lecture hours per week. Not open to students who have received credit for MUS403N. Prerequisite: MUS232N or permission of the Department Chairperson.
