An introductory course in the fundamentals of music theory. It includes basic notation, scales, intervals, and chords. No previous musical experience is required. Open to all students. Required for all Music Majors and Music Minors who do not achieve a satisfactory grade on the fundamentals portion of the Music Theory Placement Examination. Satisfies a music theory requirement for the Music minor. Three lecture hours per week. Offered every fall semester.
