This course examines the dimensions of tourism from a spatial and regional perspective. Students will explore the economic opportunities created in tourist destinations and regions, will examine the means through which firms and entrepreneurs exploit such opportunities or location-driven competitive advantages, and will investigate some of the external economic forces that influence the viability of tourism destinations. Three lecture hours per week. Required for Travel and Tourism Concentration. Prerequisite: GGR270.
