This course examines the uses of automated techniques in Geography and Information Technology to disseminate, present and communicate geographic research and information. It will introduce students to the digital data and technological tools that geographers frequently use. These include: Geographic Information Systems, remote sensing, global positioning systems, data mining and automated output devices, including the World Wide Web, listservs and computer assisted presentation and storage software.
