This course provides an introduction to probability, statistics and spatial analysis techniques used in geographic research and in analysis of data in geographic information systems. The course includes: the meaning and significance of numerical data, the analysis of central tendency and variance, sampling, data distributions, point and area spatial measurement and models, inferential statistics, correlation and regression. This course is a prerequisite for GGR205, Geographic Research. Three lecture hours per week.
