Calculus-based survey of selected topics in classical electrodynamics and geometric optics, including electric fields & Gauss' Law; electric potential; D.C. circuits; magnetic fields, electromagnetic induction; the electromagnetic field, reflection and refraction of light. Recommended for Chemistry majors. Cannot be taken for credits with PHS212 or PHS212A. Not open to students who have received credits for PHS214. Prerequisites: PHS221 or PHS213 and MAT220. Co-requisite: MAT221.
