Scientific Foundations offers an overview of scientific principles and concepts related to the clinical practice of nurse anesthesia. Course components include structure activity relationships of drugs; physics and measurement related to gas flows, the anesthesia machine and other components of the anesthesia systems; electricity; lasers; and biochemistry. (lecture) Prerequisite: two semesters of chemistry.
