ART 140 - Basic Digital Photography/Computer Skills

Introduction to digital photography and image editing emphasizing technical and aesthetic issues and how these qualities inform image content. Control of camera settings, natural and studio lighting, and basic Photoshop editing will be explored as well as career options in digital photography. A final printed and digital portfolio will be prepared. Students enrolled in the course must own a digital camera. Professional cameras, computers, software, lighting equipment and a studio will be provided for assignments. Six studio hours per week. Lab fee required. There may be additional supply costs in addition to course fees. Satisfies departmental requirement for a computer application course.
