An introduction to the history, theory, and creation of various forms of live performance outside the context of traditional theatre including: performance art, self-narrative, dance/movement, adaptation of other literary forms into performance, etc. Th e class will work on developing techniques for creating live performances; practicing these theories in writing, designing and developing inclass performances; learning the process of the critique of performance; and studying performance texts. Fall, odd-numbered years.
