Th is course considers the theological and historical development of Rabbinic Judaism from the fall of the Second Temple in 70CE to the present. Such issues as Jewish belief and ritual, mysticism, Jewish literature, anti-Semitism and the Holocaust, and the Israeli-Palestinian confl ict will be covered. Students taking the course at the 393 level will be expected to write a research paper. Alternate years.
