(Also HIS 245) An analysis of Christian faith through an historical overview of theological developments in the Christian encounter with the world, this course looks at critical "turning points" in the Christian tradition from the spread of Christianity after the 1st century destruction of the Jerusalem temple, through early debates about the nature of the trinity, the 16th-century Protestant Reformations, to 20th century developments such as Vatican II and the rise of feminist theology. Fall semester.
