Th e qualitative and quantitative spectroscopic methods of analysis. Optical and magnetic methods (primarily FT-IR, NMR, MS) will be emphasized for the structural determination of organic compounds. A combined lecture and laboratory format will give theory and experience in modern methods. Prerequisite: CHM 155. As needed.
