Investigate the basic foundations of meteorology and climate science in order to better appreciate such issues as the greenhouse effect and long-term changes in weather patterns. The course first examines the structure of the atmosphere and the processes of weather, especially those peculiar to the Pacific Northwest. The course concludes with a look at climate in general before focusing on the issue of climate change, forecasting, and how to use meteorological data. The course is designed for the layperson.
