This course explores how health and disease are defined on physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual levels. Students examine the nature of the major healing systems currently in practice around the world. The course also looks at changes in the attitudes of Western medicine and at the newest scientific developments that have begun to blur the distinctions between orthodox and alternative medicine.
