Ongoing findings are revolutionizing our understanding of Earth's oceans. Oregon's offshore waters lie in an ancient,shrinking basin as fantastic and dynamic as the marvelous organisms and ecological processes the waters support. Students will explore a range of disciplines to become familiar with ocean dynamics and the life of the sea from deep hydrothermal vents to polar ice to the edges of continents. This course examines our own inextricable relationships with the systems that make our home the Blue Planet. Meets LAC outcome: NWA4. 3 crs.
