A study of the principles of instrumental and choral music conducting. Topics include conducting patterns for simple, compound, and irregular meters, phrase shaping, tempo shifts, texture, and dynamic control. Problems related to range, balance, score reading, and the role of the conductor will be studied. Prerequisite: MU 202. This course meets WID (Writing in the Discipline) outcome. 2 crs.
