Women and men seem different in many ways-though less so than it appears. This course examines issues related to women's and men's socialization, emergent identities, andexperiences. Theory and research on gender construction are reviewed with special attention given to the contributions to this process of race, ethnicity, class, sexual orientation, and various social institutions. Prerequisite: SOC 201 or equivalent. Meets LAC outcome: HCA1. 3 crs.
