This course examines development of the child from conception to preadolescence, emphasizing the theories associated with the development of cognition, physical, and visual-motor skills, personality, and social behavior. Consideration will be given to the impact of family and environment on the child. Application of principles for helping the troubled child will be addressed. Prerequisite: PSY 201 or equivalent. This course is an option for required Developmental Issues area for Psychology majors. Meets LAC outcome: HCC3. 3 crs.
