Description:
-
This course introduces a sociological way of viewing society and its institutions: to think critically about society, how it works, for whom it works, and where we fit in. The ideas and concepts underlying this perspective are explored so students can examine their own preconceptions, and use a "sociological imagination" to increase their understanding of social and historical events, social changes which seem bewildering, and their impact on individuals' lives. Required for all Sociology majors. Meets LAC outcome: HCC1. 3 crs.
