Leaving the rigid structure of mechanistic thinking-or reductionism-to crumble, systems theory brings our attention to the interconnected and interdependent patterns that exist in and between all phenomena, living and non-living. This course offers the student an introduction and overview of both systems theory and living systems theory. Cultivating a systems perspective is of fundamental importance across all disciplines and career choices thus this course is an appropriate choice for all undergraduate students. Fulfills Systems course requirement for Human Studies majors. Meets LAC outcome: HCC7. 3 crs.
