The world has never been more saturated with messages competing for attention and response. This course investigates the persuasion process, the values underlying persuasive campaigns, the motives to which persuaders appeal, and contemporary ethical standards. Through the analysis of real-world persuasive campaigns in advertising, politics, change-agentry, and news media, the course helps participants understand how they can respond effectively to influence.
