Human beings have been long preoccupied by the distinction between nature and culture. Whether nature is used to model political or social identity or is perceived as an unruly, primitive force that must be tamed, the difference between nature and culture has been insistently maintained. This course will examine the historical framework of these distinctions as well as how modern technologies have heightened the stakes of the ancient debate. Meets LAC outcomes: HCD4, NWB5.
