3 credits This course is designed for the artist interested in the basics of monotype and collograph printing. The emphasis will be on learning techniques with and without the use of the etching press. Students will start with black and white to discover the potential of the medium and then work with color. Focus will be placed on experimenting with inks, developing an image with various materials (collage technique), and creating a related series of unique prints. Additional inking techniques, chine collé, and mul tiple-plate printing will be presented. Prerequisite: VIS 1003A. Offered: 2008 - 2010.
